Applesauce Cake Loaf The chunky applesauce makes this loaf cake extra moist and apple-y! Prep: 15 min - Bake: 1 hr 15 min - Cool: 1 hr 15 min 1 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened 1 egg 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup chunky applesauce 2 cups Gold Medal® all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves 1 cup raisins 1/2 cup chopped nuts 1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom only of loaf pan, 9x5x3 inches. 2. Beat brown sugar and butter in large bowl with electric mixer on high speed 2 minutes. Beat in egg, vanilla and applesauce. Stir in flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and cloves. Stir in raisins and nuts. Pour batter into pan. 3. Bake 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 15 minutes. Loosen sides of loaf from pan; remove from pan to wire rack. Cool completely, about 1 hour, before slicing.
