Stars and Stripes Cake Stars and Stripes Cake

Ready, set, celebrate! An all-American cake like this is all the reason you need for a get-together.

Prep: 10 min - Bake: 35 min - Cool: 1 hr

1 package Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® yellow cake mix
1 1/4 cups water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
1 tub Betty Crocker® Rich & Creamy or Whipped vanilla ready-to-spread frosting
1/3 cup blueberries
1 pint strawberries


1. Preheat oven to 350ºF; (metal or glass pan). Grease (or lightly spray with cooking spray) bottom only of 13x9x2-inch rectangular pan.

2. Beat cake mix, water, oil and eggs in large bowl on low speed 2 minutes (do not overbeat); or stir 3 minutes by hand. Pour into pan.

3. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. (Decrease bake time by 2 to 3 minutes if using dark or nonstick pan.) Cool completely, about 1 hour.

4. Frost with frosting. Arrange berries on frosted cake to create flag design. Serve immediately.

Make batter using 1 1/2 cups water, 1 tablespoon Gold Medal® All-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons oil and 3 eggs. Beat on low speed 4 min. Bake 33 to 38 minutes.
