    Pecan Blondies

    1 cup all-purpose flour
    3/4 teaspoon baking powder
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 cup, packed brown sugar
    1 egg
    5 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1 cup Diamond Pecans


    Stir together flour with baking powder and salt. Combine well sugar, egg, butter, and vanilla. Gradually stir in flour mixture until well mixed. Stir in 3/4 cup of the pecans; spread evenly into a well-greased 8 inch square baking pan. Top with remaining pecans.

    Bake at 350 F for 30 minutes or until edges are lightly browned and top springs back when lightly touched in center. Cool in pan; cut into 20 bars.

    Makes 20 bars
