Crispy Almond Squares
2 cups Diamond Sliced Almonds
3 cups toasted rice cereal (such as Rice Krispies)
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
10-ounce package large marshmallows
Preheat oven to 350°. To toast almonds, spread evenly on a
baking sheet or in a shallow pan. Bake, stirring once or
twice, until lightly browned and fragrant, 5 to 10 minutes.
In a large bowl, combine cereal and chocolate chips, set
aside. In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and
marshmallows, stirring frequently. Add hot nuts from the oven
to cereal and chocolate. Pour in hot melted marshmallow mixture;
stir well. Spread into a 9- x 13-inch pan and cool until set.
Cut into 24 squares.
